【摘要】:Thispracticeisintendedtobeusedasaguideforthedesign,configuration,andoperationofsecuritycheckpointstominimizeexposureofambulatorymedicaldevicestotheelectromagneticfieldsemittedbymetaldetectorsecuritysystems.Guidanceispresentedforsignageandinformationtohelpidentifypersonswithambulatorymedicaldevicesandprocessthemthroughthesecuritycheckpoint.Thispracticeisintendedtohelpinthetrainingofcheckpointscreenerstoaddresstheconcernsofpersonswithambulatorymedicaldevicesandtorespondtotheirneeds.Thispracticeisintendedtoaidthemedicalcommunityinadvisingmedicaldeviceuserswhomaybeaffectedtoidentifythemselvesatsecuritycheckpointssotheirconcernsmaybeaddressed.Thispracticeisintendedtoaidmedicaldevicemanufacturerstoprovideconsistentinformationformedicaldeviceusers,patients,andcheckpointscreeners.1.1Thefollowingpracticeisintendedtoaddresstheneedsandconcernsofpersonswithimplanted,active,medicaldevicesoractiveambulatorymedicaldevices,aswellaspassiveimplantedmedicaldevices,whilemaintainingtheintegrityofthesecuritycheckpoint.1.2Activeandpassiveimplantedmedicaldevicesarebeingusedatanincreasingrateasameanstoprolongandimprovequalityoflife.Althoughthesemedicaldevicesaretypicallydesignedtooperateintheelectromagneticenvironmentexperiencedindailylife,thereisapotentialforthedisruptionofactivemedicaldevicefunctionwhenexposedtocertainelectromagneticfieldsemittedbycommonlyencounteredelectricallypoweredproducts,includinghandheldandwalk-throughmetaldetectorsusedinsecuritycheckpointscreening.Inaddition,someactiveorpassiveimplanteddevicesmaytriggertheunintendedalarmofthemetaldetector.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesshowninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
