【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverscompositecorrugatedsteelpipe,intendedforusessuchasstormwaterdrainage,sanitarysewers,underdrains,constructionofculverts,andsimilaruses.Thecompositematerialusedinfabricationofthepipeconsistsofathree-layerpolymerprotectivecoatingonbothsidesofasteelsheetcore.Thethreelayersconsistofaninnerlayeroffusion-bondedepoxyonthesteelsurface,anintermediatelayerofpolyethyleneadhesive,andanouterlayerofhigh-densitypolyethylene.1.2Thethree-layerpolymercoatingprotectsthebasemetalagainstcorrosionorabrasion,orboth.Severeenvironmentsarelikelytocausecorrosionproblemstoaccessoryitemssuchascouplingbandhardwareunlesssupplementalprotectionisprovided.AdditionalprotectionforcompositesteelpipeisavailablebyuseofcoatingsappliedafterfabricationofthepipeasdescribedinSpecificationA849.1.3Thisspecificationdoesnotincluderequirementsforbedding,backfill,ortherelationshipbetweenearthcoverloadandsheetthicknessofthepipe.Experiencewithdrainageproductshasshownthatsuccessfulperformancedependsupontheproperselectionofcorrugationprofile,sheetthickness,typeofbeddingandbackfill,controlledmanufactureintheplant,andcareininstallation.TheinstallationprocedureisdescribedinPracticeA798/A798M.1.4Thisspecificationisapplicabletoordersineitherinch-poundunitsasA1042,orinSIunitsasA1042M.Inch-poundunitsandSIunitsarenotnecessarilyequivalent.SIunitsareshowninbracketsinthetextforclarity,buttheyaretheapplicablevalueswhenthematerialisorderedtoA1042M.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
