【摘要】:Thismethodisusefulindeterminingtheextrapolatedonsettemperature,thepeakheatflowtemperatureandtheheatofreactionofamaterial.Anyonsettemperaturedeterminedbythismethodisnotvalidforuseasthesoleinformationusedfordeterminationofstorageorprocessingconditions.Thistestmethodisusefulindeterminingthefractionofareactionthathasbeencompletedinasamplepriortotesting.Thisfractionofreactionthathasbeencompletedcanbeameasureofthedegreeofcureofathermallyreactivepolymerorcanbeameasureofdecompositionofathermallyreactivematerialuponaging.TheheatofreactionvaluesmaybeusedinPracticeE1231todeterminehazardpotentialfigures-of-meritExplosionPotentialandShockSensitivity.Thistestmethodmaybeusedinresearch,processcontrol,qualityassurance,andspecificationacceptance.1.1Thistestmethoddeterminestheexothermicheatofreactionofthermallyreactivechemicalsorchemicalmixtures,usingmilligramspecimensizes,bydifferentialscanningcalorimetry.Suchreactivematerialsmayincludethermallyunstableorthermosetmaterials.1.2Thistestmethodalsodeterminestheextrapolatedonsettemperatureandpeakheatflowtemperaturefortheexothermicreaction.1.3Thistestmethodmaybeperformedonsolids,liquidsorslurries.1.4Theapplicabletemperaturerangeofthismethodis25to600176;C.1.5SIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.6ThereisnoISOmethodequivalenttothisstandard.1.7ThisstandardisrelatedtoTestMethodE537andtoNAS1613,butprovidesadditionalinformation.1.8Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
